The goal of livestock air conditioning is to achieve a better environment for animals, whether we talk about health and development aspects.
As in any air conditioning, temperature and humidity must be taken into account. The importance of the former is clear, given that it will affect animal behavior and, above all, its feeding and therefore growth, which will result in greater or lesser weight of the animals.
Livestock air conditioning is normally carried out through evaporative equipment, equipment that is cooled by air renewals, ventilating, and that have the great advantage of low energy consumption and minimal environmental impact.
The operation of these equipment is very simple, they create a stream of water through which an air collected from the outside passes and that is therefore introduced clean inside, at a lower temperature, and with a higher degree of humidity.
Although the procedure is always the same, there are different types of evaporative coolers if we consider the wet panel through which the air passes.
The materials used for this purpose are reduced to those based on cellulose, such as cardboard, or those made of wood chips. Luckily, technological advances and chemical advances have led to an unparalleled evolution in the creation of new materials and application to the most diverse purposes. Thanks to this, little by little, the performance of these equipment supposes the old drawbacks of the aforementioned materials. That is why today we want to explain how the use of plastic improves the field of evaporative cooling.
To begin with, if high density polyethylene is used as plastic, we are talking about a high strength material with qualities suitable for its use. In this way the first advantage it provides is durability. When cardboard is used, even other types of plastic, the wear of these is very fast, and every so often they must be changed so that it continues to fulfill its function. On the contrary, this plastic, high density polyethylene, the only one used by Control y Ventilación, S.L. in its plastic evaporative cooling equipment, it significantly delays aging.
The other great advantage of this material is its cleaning. Since it is not a porous material, it is impossible for bacteria, fungi and other types of microorganisms to be fixed in it. In addition, these types of surfaces can easily withstand cleaning processes, even with pressurized water, that is, they are cleaned quickly and easily simply with water, taking their durability to the Long Term, measuring their durability in years and even decades.
